Messenger 2 for Iphone
This app is a fine substitute if you just want to get Facebook off your phone, but it definitely has its flaws. There's no way to upload photos into people's comment sections. I always have to go to Facebook's mobile site and do it there. There is also no way to upload video from your phone to Facebook, I'm not sure if they'll be able to fix that, but it would be nice. The ads can be a little annoying but it's what you'd expect.
If you are planning on also using this for Instagram, forget about it. Just keep the instagram app because the Friendly version is terrible. While the photo filters do work, the editing tools do not show up at all- it's just a blank empty space where they should be. I've updated this app several times and it's never been fixed, I think they only care about the Facebook portion of it. There is also NO way to receive direct messages from Instagram- I just found out today that people had been messaging me months ago and I never knew about it.
Twitter seems to work fine on here, I haven't noticed any problems, but I also don't use it as much.
The app periodically cleans itself which is good, and while it's nice to have everything in one place, just keep in mind that their main focus is Facebook so if you have other social media you might be better off keeping the original apps for those. more

Third party twitter apps are everywhere; even Friendly has one mixed in. But so far this is the only third party Facebook client I’ve been able to find. And despite being unchallenged it proves to be a very good product.

Pros: Friendly takes the biggest flaws of the stock Facebook app and does away with them. The news feed can be defaulted to most recent. A night mode is optionable. Ads and suggested posts can be removed. And Messenger is included without needing a second app. And best of all, this app does not appear to have the spyware-like qualities of the official app. And it’s also a fraction of the file size.

Cons: There isn’t a lot to criticize on this, actually. The biggest problems I can point out are not being able to tag people in comments or posts by typing their name, and having to press the back button frequently to be able to access the settings. If you use the bar at the top to move between your news feed/messages/etc you’ll find yourself mashing the back button for quite awhile to get to it. The chat could be easier to reach: going to it requires opening settings and turning it on, which is where the previously mentioned issue comes into effect. more

Some contacted me claiming I won money through a Facebook promotion. Is this real?
No! Facebook does not run a lottery, give away money, or ask for bank or credit card info for any reason. This is a scam. Do not reply to the message.
Do I need a government ID to reset my password, or is this a scam?
wikiHow Contributor
Community Answer
No, that is a scam. Do not give out any personal information unless face to face with the person requesting it or applying for credit cards, jobs, certain accounts, etc.
Why would an internal error keep blocking me when I am logged into Facebook?

wikiHow Contributor
Community Answer
If this error is still persisting, and preventing you from utilizing Facebook, they would probably like to know about it. Finding bugs and glitches is actually a big-money industry, and Facebook definitely doesn't want any weaknesses in their platform. Unfortunately, they have made it nearly impossible to contact them about specific glitches. You can submit reports about glitches with the report tool, or contact them through the BBB as outlined in this article.

I keep getting text messages with codes to reset my password. I never put in my cell phone number in my Facebook account, and I never requested to reset my password. What is going on?
It's a random scam. Someone is attempting to hijack your account. Change your password and use the Facebook privacy settings section to log out of all of your current devices and sessions.
Someone has opened a Facebook account using my name. How do I delete this fake account?
Visit their profile and click "Report" in the menu options. If you don't have your own Facebook account, use this form instead.

How do I report a stolen account?

Try clearing your browser's cache, or deleting and reinstalling the phone app. If this doesn't work, just try again once a day until your access returns.

can i get my deleted facebook messages back
See How Quickly You Can Recover Deleted Facebook Messages
Everyone’s done it – deleted a Facebook message they meant to keep (sometimes the trigger-happy clicker finger can cause serious remorse.) Adios, sayonara, people think they’ll never see their messages again.
But this is not the case. That’s right, a time machine isn’t necessary to retrieve deleted messages. Facebook knows the accidental deletion of messages can happen and they’ve created an easy way for anyone with an account to go back and view everything they’ve done on their account.
Must Read: Why You Should Archive Your Facebook Messages Rather Than Delete Them
Recover deleted Facebook messages from a downloaded archive
In order to receive deleted messages in Facebook, you’ll first need to log-in to the Facebook account you want to retrieve messages from.
Go to “Account Settings”
After you’re logged in, go to “Account Settings” in the top right corner of the window.
Once the “General Account Settings” page loads, click on “Download a copy of your Facebook data” at the bottom of the page.
Download Your Archive
After you click on the “Download a copy…” link, you’ll be brought to a page where you can download everything you’ve done on your Facebook account since the birth of your account. Click on the green button that says “Start My Archive.”
After you click the green button, the small dialog box “Request My Download,” will open, informing you it can take a while (typically 2-3 hours) to gather all of your information. Click “Start My Archive” again to launch the gathering process.
And that, you’ll be told to go to the email account associated with your Facebook profile where a download link to your archive will be sent. Again, it may take 2-3 hours to arrive. Once it does, click on the link in the email to download your archive.
And before you can download the archive, you will need to reenter your password.

Finally, click on “Download Archive” button that appears after entering your password. Your archive will download to your computer. Unzip it, then open the file named “index.”

The file containing your archived data will open and click on “Messages” and all of your past messages will load.

To easily find the message you’re looking for, search by keyword. Press “CTRL + F” or “F3” to access the keyword search process, and that’s it. Once you find the message, copy and paste the contents into a Word document to save.

You’ve got to love Facebook for providing such an in-depth archiving feature. There is a myriad of reasons people need to retrieve deleted messages, and this feature fills this need. Just remember, it can take a few hours to extract your archive, so plan accordingly.
