To Remove and/or Control the "People You May Know" feature on Facebook.
Typically this is an issue for newer subscribers as Facebook wants to "help you" get in the swing of things. They take the address books of your chosen friends on Facebook and use them to provide you with suggestions for folks you may wish to have as further Facebook friends. I consider this an intrusion into my privacy and a total annoyance on anyone's Home Feed. For some folks it may be painful to see the names and faces of others whom they know. I disagree with Facebook's choice to force this upon us. To remove this follow the steps below.
1. Click on the "See All Friend Suggestions" link in the People You May Know box in your Home Feed.
2. At this point you can just start clicking "Remove" on each of the suggestions that are already loaded to your page, if you wish, but steps 3-5 below will stop more from coming. Luckily, you can pretty much rapid-click the Remove links. Yay.
3. On the right, in the box that says "Add Personal Contacts" click the words, "See how it works" if you want to understand it more fully, or click the words, "Manage imported contacts" if you want to control who sees your address book or quit seeing the address book suggestions of others.
4. On the "Manage Invites and Imported Contacts" page, scroll down and click on the link in blue that says, "Remove all Contacts."
5. When the next screen appears click, "Remove." Facebook with send you a message saying they did it.

The main reason for this feature is your LOCATION.
“We often suggest people you may know based on things you have in common, like mutual friends, places you've visited, or the city you live in," a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement. "But location information by itself doesn't indicate that two people might be friends. That's why location is only one of the factors we use to suggest people you may know.
Android Users
Those with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system can head into Settings, choose Apps, then select Facebook, select Permissions, and then set Location to "off."
