Can you retrieve deleted messages in Facebook
Yeah. I learned at my old job to keep all my old e-mails when it was *strongly* suggested that we not do that. It saved my job once when someone didn't think I'd have e-mails two or three years old and blamed me for something. :-)Posted about 4 years ago by Sheri HurtStar Contributor

There is no mechanism to do that. When you delete messages, Facebook warns you that it is permanent and not recoverable.

What’s the difference between archiving and deleting?
Archiving a conversation will hide it from your messages view, while deleting a conversation permanently removes the message history from your inbox.
To archive a conversation, go to your main messages page and click the x next to the message. The conversation's history will be preserved, and you will still be able to find it later. If the same person sends you a new message later, the archived conversation will reappear, and the new message will be added to it.
