How To Log Yourself Out Of Facebook On Other Devices And Improve Your Security
For many Facebook users, it’s good to occasionally brush up on your security knowledge and see if there’s a better way you could be doing things. Despite Facebook’s tendency to expose your information as publicly as possible, they do take your login security seriously – and you should too. Do you know how to log out of Facebook remotely? Have you authenticated certain devices with Facebook so that you can be notified if someone tries to log in on another device?

These are things you can easily set up and which will help you to maintain control over your Facebook security. If you haven’t yet done so, take five minutes to read this guide and improve your security on Facebook now.
Accessing Your Facebook Security Section

All of the security tools are easily located within the Facebook Security section. Go to the arrow on the top right of Facebook, choose “Account Settings” and then “Security”.

Remotely Log Out Of Facebook
In the Facebook Security section, you’ll see a section called “Active Sessions”. Clicking on that will show you all the places you are currently logged into Facebook. You should see your current session, followed by any other devices which are logged in as you. This could include your mobile, tablet or work computer.
For instance, if you’re at home and you can see you’re still logged in at work, you can click on “End Activity” to ensure none of your co-workers do anything silly or sly with your account. Other useful scenarios could involve leaving yourself logged in at a friend’s house or on a public computer.

The same goes for any device you don’t recognise, as it could be someone accessing your account. Just click “End Activity” and it will log you out from that device. If you accidentally log out your own phone or tablet it’s no big deal to log in again from the device when you’re ready to use it again.
Set Your Recognised Devices

Facebook allows you to register your usual computers and devices so that it knows that it’s quite likely to be you logged in from that machine. It also allows you to approve or get notified if anyone logs in using any other device. To set up your recognised devices, you need to activate “Login Approvals” and add your devices. After a few devices are added, you can disable it if you prefer. See the next section for details.
Approve Logins From Unknown devices

To set up approvals for unknown device Logins, you will first need to ensure you have registered a mobile phone with Facebook. Then go to the “Login Approvals” section in the Facebook Security, check the box and save. A code will be sent to your phone for verification.

If your current computer isn’t registered yet Facebook will ask you to give it a name. Facebook will also give you the option to install a code generator on your smart phone to approve logins that way. It’s not required that you do this – it’s just another option you can use.

It’s a good idea to open a browser on your smart phone or tablet straight away and get those smaller devices registered.

Get Notifications About Logins From Unknown Devices

It’s possible for you to get a notification whenever someone logs into your account from an unknown device. This is a little less secure than the option requiring approval. In Facebook security, go to “Login Notifications” and check the box for email or text notifications as you wish to set this up. Note, you’ll need to give Facebook your phone number and authenticate it if you want text notifications. This is under Account Settings > Mobile.

If you use these methods and see that someone is using your Facebook account, you can quickly view the active sessions and “End Activity” for anything suspicious. Then, immediately change your password for Facebook.

Social media is a massive part of modern day culture, with users expecting tighter security for their personal accounts.

Facebook has plenty of security options in place to protect its users, but what happens if they forget their password?

Hackers can gain access to your Facebook account through correctly guessing your password, so it is recommended to change it regularly.

If you have recently changed it and can’t remember its, or you have forgotten a previous Facebook password, here is how to change it and log back in.

How to log into Facebook

It is likely you are one of the hundreds of millions of people whohavea Facebook account to connect with friends online.

How do you reset your Facebook password?

If you have forgotten your Facebook password, you can get a reclamation email sent to you in order to rest your password and log back in.

When you are on the Facebook login page, click on the ‘Forgotten account?’ button underneath the email and password boxes.

You will then be taken to a page with a box called Find Your Account, where you can enter either your username, phone number, email or full name into the text box.

You will then be given a list of accounts that match the search connected to whatever you typed in. Find your account and click ‘This is my account’.

Once you have selected your account, you will be asked how you wish to reset your password, either through email to the account connected to the Facebook profile, or a text to the associated number.

Once you have followed all instructions in this box you will be sent a security code either through email or text that will reset your password.

If you already know your password but simply want to change it while you’re logged in, head over to the Settings tab on your Facebook account.
Click on the Security tab and then Change password.
Enter your current password and a new password before clicking Save changes.

Tips for Signing Up for Facebook
Signing up for Facebook is fairly simple, and the Web site will walk you through the steps. It does, however, require users to be at least 13 years old, and the company encourages members to use their real names. The next step after the sign-up page is a security check page. This will ask you to look at a skewed image of letters and ask you to type them into a box. This is called a CAPTCHA test, and it ensures that you are a real person, rather than a computer program designed to infiltrate a Web site and load it with spam.

After you pass the CAPTCHA test, Facebook will ask you to find people you know by plugging in your e-mail address and e-mail password. This feature will find who among your e-mail contacts has a Facebook profile and suggest friends for you to add. Feel free to skip this step entirely if you feel uncomfortable giving away your e-mail password. Instead, it will give you the option to search for people you know individually by typing their names into the search bar, although this is more time-consuming.

At this point, you can also start adding things to your profile, including a photo of yourself, your employment and education information, relationship status, interests, and so on. Again, don't feel compelled to share any information that you don't want others knowing. When you edit your profile, you can even opt out of displaying your birthday and your sex.

Once you establish what and with whom you want to share information, you're all set. Explore the other features and uses of Facebook, like posting a status update, uploading photos from your recent vacation, and links to interesting Web sites or articles you find that you want your friends to know about. From the left menu bar under "Events," you can see which events you've been invited to, or create your own event and invite others. If you like, you can also explore applications (or "apps"), like Scrabble and FarmVille. But apps request access to your personal data, so don't use them if you feel uncomfortable with this.

Hey! Welcome to the community :)

If you log into Facebook.com and then select the "Music" tab on the left hand side under "Apps" and click any Spotify link your Spotify client should launch with you already signed in ;)

Actually, this solved it for me:

The "sign in with FB" button doesn't work, but you can simply enter your Facebook username and password instead in the standard sign-in fields.

I FIXED IT!!!! I found the issue. I have been fiting forever to get this to work.

I kind of fixed it....

It all lies with a setting in my Chrome. I suuspect it was the ad blocker add-on which I do not have installed on other web brousers. However I do not have any issues on any other computer but this one. And all my chrome settings are the same on other computers. I will have to check the default web brouser settings on those computers.

By changing my default web brouser to E or firefox, both allowed the desktop app to open a brouser to log into Facebook.

Right on!

My problem was Ghostery, the plugin I have installed on Chrome.

I simply enabled "Facebook Connect" and the button started working.

I want to sign in to my account without Facebook or Google+

If you originally signed up with Facebook or Google+ but:
Would no longer like to sign in through the application, or
Have deleted your Facebook/Google+ account that is connected to your SoundCloud profile

you can still sign in to your account by creating a new password for your SoundCloud profile.

You can send yourself a password reset link here by typing in either your profile URL, or your email attached to your Facebook or Google+ account:

This email will go to the email address attached to your Facebook or Google+ account. If you do not see an email, please check your spam folder as it may have ended up in there.
