Fb hide friends list Timeline
After rolling my eyes and scoffing, I asked her if she was crazy. Did she really not know how to hide her friends list? I could have sworn I saw her do it before, and then switch right back to keeping her friends list visible.
She told me that she decided to opt in on the new Facebook Timelinelayout, and ever since she did, she's even more confused about how to keep up with her profile than it was when she first joined Facebook in 2010.
I figured I'd cut her some slack and wouldn't poke too much fun at her, but decided to do a Google search on how to make your friends list private on Facebook Timeline since I had never tried to do so myself (I'm still hanging around with the older layout at the moment). I was amazed to find that there wasn't a quick and simple step-by-step guide on how to hide your friends list, so I took it upon myself to take the plunge and switch over to the Timeline layout so that I could help others out!
How to Make Your Friends List Private with Facebook Timeline
Step One: Go to your profile. You should see a white area beneath your profile picture that displays information such as your location, where you work, and to the right it should show things such as photos, maps, likes, etc. One of these things should be your friends list. Click on it.

How to Hide Friends List on Facebook Timeline
Recently I had my mother call me up at 11PM at night on a Tuesday to ask me a question about her Facebook profile: She wanted to know how she could make her friends list private from everyone else on her friends list and the rest of the world in general. After rolling my eyes and scoffing, I asked her if she was crazy. Did she really not know how to hide her friends list? I could have sworn I saw her do it before, and then switch right back to keeping her friends list visible.

Keep in Mind
While your friends list may be private, mutual friends between you and others will always show.
Step Two: Click the edit button which you can find on the top right part of the page. There should then be a popup that asks "Who can see your full friends list on your timeline?"
There's a little globe in the right hand corner of that popup. When you click it, there will be a small drop-down menu of options for you to choose from; public, friends, friends except acquaintances, only me, and custom.
