In 2009, Facebook introduced the "like" feature, making it easy for users to quickly validate each other's photos with a thumbs up.
In the six years since, you and your friends have probably liked and forgotten about your fair share of photos.
Now, thanks to Facebook's graph search, there's an easy way to see all the photos you, your friends, and even some celebrities have liked over the years.
Here's how to see all the photos someone has liked on Facebook.
First, decide who you're going to search. We're going to use Facebook's own Mark Zuckerberg as an example. Type "photos liked by Mark Zuckerberg," into the Facebook search bar and hit enter.

Next you'll see a page with some of your chosen person's like photos. Click "See more" at the bottom of the screen.

From there, you'll be able to scroll through all their liked photos.
We tried this trick with a few other celebrities. Beyoncé seems to have a penchant for liking photos exclusively of herself.

You can also use the trick the see all the photos you've liked over the years. Just type "Photos liked by me" into the search bar.

Or course, it's not a perfect hack. If you're not friends with the person who posted a photo your friend has liked, you might not be able to see that photo, depending on the poster's privacy settings. Still, it's a fun trip down memory lane.

So, you got “poked” by someone on Facebook—now what? A Facebook poke is a feature on the social media platform that lets users send a single virtual notification to a friend. No more, no less. Despite the feature’s name, the purpose of a poke has never been entirely clear. While poking was all the rage in 2007, it’s worth noting that its popularity has significantly declined on Facebook over the past few years. In 2011, the feature officially went into hiding on the site as part of a series of functionality updates.

In the younger days of Facebook, a poke was a cute and timid (though ineffective) way to virtually flirt or just say hello. Today, pokes still exist but it’s hardly straightforward: Receiving a casual poke from your grandmother and your crush in the same day can leave you with bizarre mixed messages.

Still confused as to why someone would poke you on Facebook, or what it could mean? Here are all your Facebook poke questions, answered.

What does Poke mean on Facebook?
Essentially, a poke is the same as a like, with a much more ambiguous purpose.
According to Urban Dictionary, a poke “allows users to say ‘hello’ to or show interest in a friend without having to go through the tedious process of crafting coherent sentences.” Basically, a Poke means someone is trying to get your attention, flood your notifications just for fun, or find an excuse to flirt.
An early Facebook FAQ page read, “When we created the poke, we thought it would be cool to have a feature without any specific purpose. People interpret the poke in many different ways, and we encourage you to come up with your own meanings.”

Whether or not you find a poke sweet, unimpressive, or creepy is entirely up to you. Although if you’ve frequented Facebook a lot in the past year, sometimes it’s nice to have a wordless interaction void of any rants or political commentary.

A Poke is arguably an outdated flirting method. Sliding into DMs, or direct messages, is the new way to get someone’s attention on social media.

How do you Poke someone?
First, choose your poking victim. Go to their profile. If you’re being considerate, decide if the person you are about to poke knows what message you are trying to get across.
Click the “…” button next to the Message button. The drop-down menu will give you several options. Select Poke. Your poking recipient will then receive a notification.

What is a poke war?
A poke war is exactly what it sounds like: A constant exchange of pokes back and forth between two users. Poke wars serve no purpose and always end when one person gives up and decides to stop poking back. There’s no real end game if you choose to start a poke war, unless you plan to be relentless enough to out-poke your opponent.

If you receive a poke from someone you don’t want to poke back, you have the option to just ignore it. Facebook lets you delete Pokes by clicking the gray “X” so you won’t have to see the notification. If the notifications continue, blocking the sender is always an option, especially if you aren’t friends with them.

If you've spent any length of time on Facebook, you may have been "poked" by someone, or you may have wondered what it means to give someone else a poke. A poke is a small application on Facebook that is included with every account.

Sending a Poke on Facebook

There are a number of reasons to send pokes, both to your friends and to people who aren't on your friends list, including:
Just to say a quick "hello"
To remind someone that you're waiting on a reply or message from him or her
To check in and see if a person has visited Facebook lately
To let someone know you're thinking of him or her

To poke someone:
Go to their profile page.
Find the "…" icon located on the cover photo of their profile.
Select the "poke" option.
A popup window will appear confirming that you have poked the person.
How to Tell If You Have Been Poked

If someone pokes you, you'll receive a notification under the "world" icon for notifications on the blue menu bar on the right. If you click on that notice, you'll be taken to a screen where you can choose a "Poke Back" option inside of a blue button with a hand icon. You will also see below that a list of suggested people to poke.

You can also delete the poke by clicking on the grey "x" to the right of the Poke Back button.

One thing to keep in mind is that you cannot poke the same person twice unless the individual has returned or removed your first poke.
Stopping Someone from Poking You

If you want to stop someone from poking you, you can block them by clicking on the question mark icon on the top right of the blue menu bar. Go to Privacy Shortcuts and choose the third option, "How do I stop someone from bothering me?" A screen will pop up where you can enter the person's name or email address.
Sending Pokes from Your Phone

You can send a poke from your mobile phone in a similar way to using a desktop computer or laptop.
From your Facebook app on the phone, go the person's profile.
Underneath their cover photo and name, you will see the vertical three dots on the far right.
Tap on this to open a drop down menu.
Select the "poke" option.

What Does It Mean to Be Poked on Facebook?
I was doing some research yesterday and stumbled across this question that people were asking. What does it mean to be poked on Facebook? I laughed out loud…a long time! There were more than 1,000 people asking this question!

Well, it really is no mystery as to what “poking” on Facebook means. It just means you poke them. Just like if you walked up to someone at the grocery store and took your finger and poked them. It’s a way of saying hello to your friends on Facebook.

Once you poke someone, they have the option of poking you back or ignoring your poke. When I was growing up the guys would “swap licks” which meant they would take turns hitting each other in the arm with their fist until someone finally said “uncle!” Poking can work in a similar fashion. You poke someone, they poke you back, you poke them again, they poke you back….gets a little monotonous doesn’t it.

You can only poke a confirmed friend, so you can’t go around poking just anyone. And can only poke you if your account is confirmed. Someone poked me several weeks ago, but I didn’t respond, so it’s still on my home page that I have been poked. I can choose to ignore it, which I have obviously done, or I can remove it, which I will probably do.

And just to clarify conformed means that you have to confirm the email address that you set your Facebook account up with and that will enable you to send messages, write on your friends’ Walls, post in discussions, poke, tag your friends, comment, join groups, and fan pages, and basically use your account to it’s fullest.

I guess it could be fun to poke someone, but I really don’t know why. If I want to say Hi, I’ll just go to their Wall or send them a private message and say Hi! But for the thousands of people who have been anxious to get the real story on poking…you have it now.:) And please don’t poke me, I have tender arms!
