How to change your name on Facebook
If you want to change your name on Facebook, then you must follow the below-mentioned step-by-step guide for the process.
Facebook, being one of the most popular social networking platforms, is installed on virtually every Android or iOS smartphone at present through the official Facebook App. The Facebook app offers an excellent user experience and provides easy access to all the features of Facebook including live feed, sending messages, sharing pictures and videos. Another significant aspect of the Facebook App is the option to manage the settings of your account conveniently. You can quickly change your password, security settings, privacy settings, and various other aspects associated with your Facebook account.
If you want to change your name on Facebook, then you must follow the below-mentioned step-by-step guide for the process:

1. Open the Facebook app on your smartphone.
2. Now tap on the menu option towards the top-right corner of your screen, it looks like three horizontal bars.
3. Herein, tap on the “Settings and Privacy” option. Now, in the new menu, you must select the option titled “Account Settings.”
4. Now you must tap on the “General” option.
5. You will see your personal details on the screen including your name, email id, phone number and manage account option and you can manage all your personal information here.
6. Tap on your name and on the next screen, you will be able to see a tab “Change Name”. Here you can change your name as per your liking. You must remember that any changes in your name must conform to Facebook’s name standards.

7. Enter your new First Name, Middle Name and Last Name. You cannot enter any special characters or punctuations. You must also remember that after you change your name on Facebook, you cannot change it for the next 60 days. So always make sure to double-check all the details that you have entered.

8. You can also change your Language specific name, by clicking on the option “Add or change the language-specific name.”

9. After you have updated the name fields, tap on the option “Review Change” and select the relevant display option. You might also be asked to input your Facebook password to confirm the change.

10. Now, tap on the option “Save changes”. Now your name on Facebook has been changed, and you can see your profile under the new name.

How to Change Your Facebook Page Name 2015
You are here: Home / Facebook Tips / How to Change Your Facebook Page Name 2015

Want to change your Facebook Page name?

The good news is you can – probably.

This is better than a few years ago, when the answer was never, no way, not for any reason.

Now it’s quite easy to change your Fan Page name. But – Facebook will have to approve your name change.

You can only change once.

A reader has offered a hack even if you’ve already changed your name once. See end of post – caution is advised.

NOTE: When I speak of Page name, I mean the Title of your Page, as overlaid on your Cover Photo. This will NOT change your Facebook Page URL (web address). Check here for how to change your Facebook Page URL and important cautions about doing so.

Changing your Page name is a BIG deal – it must be done right – you can never change it again (through normal channels, anyway). Please read this entire page carefully!
How to Change Your Facebook Page Name

Logged in as an Admin of the Page you wish to change, click Aboutunder your cover photo. You should be on the Page Info tab. Click it in the left sidebar if necessary.

Hover the Name section and click the blue Edit pencil that pops up to the right.

Fill in the name you’re SURE you want (WARNING! Cannot be undone or changed more than ONE time!).

Then scroll to the bottom and click Continue.

Check your spelling again. Once you click Request Change, your request will go to Facebook for approval.
If You Don’t See the Option to Edit Your Page’s Name
You don’t have a Page role that allows you to change your Page’s name. Learn how to see your Page role.
You or another admin recently changed your Page’s name.
This option isn’t currently available in your location. source

See below for another possibility.
No Edit Pencil? Here’s What Worked for Me

I changed my Page Name in 2013, so I don’t know if this option is still available. But I’m leaving it here so you can try it. Let me know!

If you’ve never changed your Page name, but still don’t see the Edit pencil, try changing your Page category to Brands & Products or Companies & Organizations, and click Save Changes. The Request Change link should magically appear!

Now click Request Change and fill out the form (sample below).

Note that you have a choice of reasons for the Page Name change request.

If you select that your business name has changed, you will almost certainly be required to provide documentation. Logos, business cards, and websites are not acceptable.

You can choose “Other” and explain in the text area.

My first choice was to change my Page name to match my website: How-To Social Media Graphics, and explain in “Other” that my business had evolved. I decided that had a high risk of being rejected.

I chose to request a very similar name to my then-current Louise Myers Graphic Design: Louise Myers How-To Graphics. I then selected “My Page name is misspelled” as the best option. (Don’t even ask how long I deliberated over this!)

Note: Hyphens (as shown in the screen shot) are no longer allowed in Facebook Names – either Page or personal profile.

Before submitting your Page name change request be 100% certain of 2 things:
This is the Page name you want for the life of your Page. At this time, just ONE change is allowable.
Your Fan page is 100% compliant with Facebook Terms of Service. Your Page could be shut down once it’s scrutinized by Facebook. Click with caution!

Upload any pertinent documentation, and click Send.
Wait to Hear from FB on Your Page Name Change Request

You should get an auto-reply quickly. I can’t say how long it will take for Facebook to review your request and respond – the auto-reply says up to 3 days. For me it only took one day plus a half hour. And it was approved!
How to Change Your Facebook Page URL a SECOND Time

Here is a hack offered by a reader.

CAUTION: I don’t know what “Global Pages” are, and if this is something you should do. Proceed with caution. The creator of the SlideShare offers to answer questions – you can contact him via the info on slide 11.

Locate the box that’s labeled “Work and Education”.

2
Click the “Edit” button at the top right of this box.

3
Click the box that’s initially labeled by “Where have you worked?”.

4
Type the name of the business where you have worked. Don’t add the city/state info. The name is good enough. It will display a list of filtered results as you type.
Sometimes, when there is no business such as what was typed completely, you’ll see a line called “Add (Business name)”.
Click the correct business.

5
Click the “Edit” link to more clearly acknowledge the proper years you’ve worked at the business and define what you did, what awards you earned, etc. Then, click "Add Job" when you finish.

6
Click the “Done Editing” box at the top right hand corner of the Work and Education box as was originally labeled.

In Facebook’s mindset, there isn’t a state of “Confusion” (if your city is Brilliant, and your state is Confusion, don’t type Brilliant Confusion, because neither will be found and you will later have added an incorrect unverifiable place.
It will accept almost any city/state that is located globally too, but it may take a bit more typing, with the provinces and such. So be forewarned.

3
Click into the “Hometown” box. Type the location, like as you initially did for “Current City” above filling in the proper information here too.

7
Type or select the appropriate responses for any other phone numbers (including what type of line the number is for), any other IM screen names for any other services, full contact info (full address lines), and a personal website.

Sometimes, Facebook profile information, has been known to provide people with alternate jobs. But, since you control the “action”, you can control what you post, and internally some of this information won’t be seen.
You can also play with making certain items private or to a select group of friends (Friends setting) or the friends of your Facebook friends (Friends-of-Friends setting), if you want, or, in some cases, to a select amount of people (using the "Custom")settings. Facebook seems to only deem everything to be fully public (the Everyone setting), no matter the item you are dealing in the very beginning. You'll have to play with this idea for each individual setting you'd like to fix.
Play with whatever settings you deem to be enough information. You are the person who decides the rules on what information you want (and don't want) displayed.
As you play with adding "Life Events" to your Facebook timeline, you'll be introduced to a brand new box called "History by year" where the only way to edit these events, is to edit the event from your timeline.

Warnings

Since passwords and your Facebook username are two secure pieces of data, Facebook doesn’t allow anyone to edit this personal information here. Nor does it allow you to edit your mobile phone number or other secure personal data here. You’ll need to edit this information from the “Account Settings” link, located under the link in the top right corner of any Facebook page located under the drop-down link initially known as “Home”.
