Or maybe you just want to take a break from the social networks and the potential drama that sometimes comes with it ( (exes, anyone?). Whatever your reason for leaving may be, escaping from the Twitter realm is not a very complicated task, if you know what steps to take.
In this post we will show you exactly how it’s done, so keep reading for all the details.

Things to know before leaving

There are a few technical things you should know about before making this decision. Let’s run through them real quick.
Sadly, you can’t yet do this from the Twitter application. You will need a computer (or a phone with a browser set to desktop mode).
Twitter will keep your information in its servers for 30 days after you deactivate your account. You know… just in case you get cold feet and decide to come back.
In these 30 days, you can reactivate your account by simply logging in.
If for any reason you want to use the same email or username on a new account, you can simply change them in the settings, then confirm your changes. Just make sure this is done before deactivating the account at hand.
Some content may still be view-able for a few days. If you really need some stuff to disappear, go delete it first.

How to delete your Twitter account
Open your browser and head over to Twitter.com.
Click on the “Profile and settings” button, which is the little profile picture located on the top-right corner of the page.
Select “Settings”.
Scroll down and click on the “Deactivate my account” link at the bottom of the page.
After reading the given information, you can go ahead and select “Deactivate @_____”.
You will be asked to verify your action by entering your password. Go ahead and do so.

4 Ways to Get Someone's Facebook Password

Hacking into other peoples' Facebook accounts is an infringement on personal privacy, and should be avoided. Knowing how to break into someone's Facebook account, however, can help you learn how to protect your own. To get someone's Facebook password, a person will need to either guess the password or search for a password document, so choosing strong passwords and keeping them safe are vital if you wish to protect your account. Another party can also gain access to someone's Facebook account by resetting the password; if the user has Login Approvals enabled, however, the only way they can access that user's account is if they have the user's mobile device as well.

Steps

Method 1Resetting the Password

1. Obtain your target's email address. You will need this to start the password reset process.
You'll likely also need to have three mutual friends who are willing to help you enter the account. More on this later.

2. Open the Facebook login page. Log out if you are already logged in.


3. Click the "Forgot your password?" button.


4. Enter your target's Facebook login email address. Hit "Search."


5. Click the "No longer have access to these?" button.


6. Enter in an email address that you control that isn't linked with your Facebook account.


7. Try to answer the security question. If you can answer this question, you'll be able to change the password. If you can't answer the question, read on.


8.. Click "Recover your account with help from your friends" if you can't figure out the security question.


9. Choose three friends that you can trust to help you get into the account. Facebook will send an account recovery password to the friends that are selected. If you have mutual friends who are willing to help, you can have the password sent to them


10. Reset the password. After entering in the codes from the friends, you'll be able to reset the password.

Method 2Protecting Your Own Password


1. Enable Login Approval. This is Facebook's two-factor authentication system, and can foil nearly any attempt to access your account without permission. When an access attempt is detected on an unrecognized device, your mobile phone will be sent a code that will need to be entered in order to log in. Without this code, the intruder will not be able to access your Facebook account.
Log in to your Facebook account.
Click the Menu button in the upper-right and select "Settings".
Click the "Security" tab.
Click "Edit" next to the "Login Approvals" entry.
Follow the prompts to enable Login Approvals. You will need to associate your mobile phone number with your Facebook account.


2. Pick a unique password. Avoid using names, birthdays, home addresses, or real words in your password, as these are easy to guess. To ensure security, your password should be a combination of words and letters, preferably in a totally random order. The longer and more random your password is, the better.


3. Use different passwords for different accounts. If you use the same password for your email, your online banking, and your Facebook account, then it will be easier for people to hack into all of your information once they have discovered one of your passwords.


4. Change your password frequently. If you suspect that somebody else has your login information, then you should change your password immediately to prevent them from hacking into your account without your permission.


5. Remember to log out. This is especially important if you are logging into your account on somebody else's computer or mobile device. You may even want to consider logging out of your account on your own computer each time, especially if you know that somebody else will be using your computer.


6. Install a firewall to detect keystroke logging. The firewall will alert you anytime information on your computer is being sent out to a third party and ask for your permission first.

Method 3Guessing the Password


1. Try keywords and dates. Many people build passwords off of important names and dates in their lives. These could be pet names, birthday dates, house numbers, and more. If you know your target pretty well, try various combinations of important keywords and dates.


2. Remember some basic password tricks. There are a few tricks to keep in mind when trying to guess a password:
If the password has numbers in it, it will usually be "1" or "2" and will typically be located at the end of the password.
If the password has a capital letter in it, it will usually be the first character, followed by a vowel.
Women tend to use personal names, while men tend to use hobbies.


3. Try some universal passwords. Tons of people use very basic passwords for their accounts so that they can remember them easily. Try a few of these common passwords to see if any work:

Method 4Searching for a Password Document


1. Gain access to the target's computer. Many people save all of their passwords in a text document so that they don't have to remember all of them. If you're able to get on their computer, you may be able to find this file.


2. Check the Documents folder. There's a good chance that if they did create a document with their passwords that it will be stored in the Documents folder. Search through the folder to see if you can find one.


3. Perform a search on the computer for "password", "login", or "accounts". This may help you track down a document that has been stored elsewhere on the computer.


4. Check the Recent Documents. Open up the target's word processor and check the Recent Files list to see if the password document has been opened recently.

I forgot my Facebook password

1: If you have forgotten your password you will need to click on the ‘Forgotten account?’ button on the right hand of the Facebook login home page.

2: This takes you through to the Find Your Account page, where you have the option of typing your username, phone number, email or full name into the box provided. Then simply click ‘Search.’

Facebook Password Reset Bug Gave Hacker Access To Any Account
Anand Prakash could have hacked your Facebook account or anyone else’s.
The India-based security researcher found a glaring password-reset vulnerability last month that has since been patched. The bug allowed him to crack open any of Facebook’s 1.1 billion accounts using a rudimentary brute force password attack.

But instead of pillaging accounts for financial data, Prakash reported his findings to Facebook which earned him a $15,000 bug bounty on March 2. The dollar value of his discovery, Facebook told Threatpost, is huge by Facebook standards. According to Facebook, only a rare few have earned more as part of its Bug Bounty Program.

Why was Facebook’s payout so much? It’s tied to the seriousness of the potential threat; what Prakash found is unnerving for anyone who values the privacy and security of their Facebook account. Prakash’s discovery was a mix of finding low-hanging fruit, being in the right place at the right time and being a prolific bug hunter, said a Facebook spokesperson.

The vulnerability exploited a hole in the way Facebook handles self-service password resets. “All you needed for this exploit was a Facebook username,” Prakash told Threatpost in an email exchange.

Last month, Prakash said, when he was probing for flaws in Facebook’s security, he noticed Facebook’s developer site (beta.facebook.com) and the company’s stripped-down basic version of its site (mbasic.beta.facebook.com) implemented different security settings when it came to password resets.

Prakash explains, whenever a user forgets their password they have the option to reset the password by entering any phone number or any email address via Facebook’s dedicated password-reset page. Facebook will then send a six digit code to the phone number or the email address you just entered in order to initiate the password reset. “I tried to brute the 6 digit code on www.facebook.com and was blocked after 10-12 invalid attempts,” wrote Prakash in his research notes posted to his personal website.

But Prakash’s brute force password attack wasn’t blocked on beta.facebook.com and mbasic.beta.facebook.com. “Rate limiting was missing on forgotten password endpoints,” he said. That allowed Prakash to easily crack the six digit code using Burp Suite, security testing software.

“It was a very simple exploit. This hack was available to anyone,” Prakash told Threatpost. “All an attacker needed was a username and initiate a forgotten password request.”

For Facebook’s part, it told Threatpost that Prakash had stumbled on a temporary bug that was only a vulnerability for a very short period of time.

Prakash said that only account he hacked open was his own. He said he discovered the bug and reported it the same day. Facebook said it plugged the security hole within hours of learning about it.

“One of the most valuable benefits of bug bounty programs is the ability to find problems even before they reach production. We’re happy to recognize and reward Anand for his excellent report,” a Facebook spokesperson said.

The find also earned Prakash a Twitter shout-out from Alex Stamos, Facebook’s chief security officer. He tweeted “Great bug, Anand. Enjoy the $15K.”

Forgotten Password Help
2 ways we recommend that you use if you want to quickly remember your forgotten password.

Way 1: Jogging Your Memory

Sometimes when you have forgotten your password, all you need is a small reminder to remember what you have saved your password as. When you set up an account, for most sites they ask you to set an answer to a question or set a question that you have to answer to remember your password e.g. what’s my mother’s last name? For others they ask you to click all the images with a certain object. The security feature differs with different account providers. This usually works faster as you don’t have to go through the whole process of waiting for an email and clicking the “reset password” link or button in the email. So if you can set an easy question for yourself or something that is hard for you to forget such as digits in your surname would be the best as remembering your password after a few tries will save you lots of time.

Way 2: Resetting & Recovering Your Password

When you have tried the above and failed, resetting your password could be the only option left for you to access your account. This is usually the last resort of which we think is the best way to solve this problem if you are unsure of what your set question may be. Resetting your password will allow you to set a new password for that account via your email. Once you have access to your email, account providers assume that you are the user with authority to reset the password as your email account is something that is very confidential and no one should have access to it except the owner.

So if you are out of guesses, we recommend that you reset your forgotten password and set a new one that you will easily remember. Either you can keep the password in a vault on your mobile device, create a password with something dear to you or create an account online with a password storage provider.
